What's new

What's new

Release notes for the Android app and WaChat Web.

  1. Android 3.6 · Web 2.3

    • Chats exported on US-format phones import with the right dates, and dotted and iOS 17 formats are recognised.
    • Re-importing a chat keeps every new message and puts it in the right place.
    • Jumping to a date, a reply or the latest message lands exactly on it.
    • Delete your account from Settings, on Android and on the web.
    • Share codes are encrypted with their password, and expired codes can no longer be opened.
    • Videos on the web keep playing after the tab has been idle.

  2. Android 3.5

    • Voice notes download only when you press play.
    • Chat lists never decode full-size photos, so long chats scroll smoothly.
    • Tapping a quoted reply jumps to the original message.

  3. Android 3.4 · Web 2.2

    • Search understands Arabic: hamza, diacritics and letter variants no longer hide results.
    • The newest messages are searchable instantly, before the full index is ready.

  4. Android 3.2 · Web 2.1

    • Stars and notes sync between the phone and the browser.
    • Deleting a chat everywhere removes it from Drive and from your other device.
    • Pay for Plus on the web with crypto.
