Terms of service

1 · The service

WaChat is a product for saving and viewing your own WhatsApp chats: an Android app, and WaChat Web in the browser, which works by importing a WhatsApp export file or WhatsApp's encrypted backup together with your key, with an option to save to your own Google Drive. WaChat is an independent product and is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.

2 · Your account

Using WaChat Web requires signing in with an account (Google or email); the same account carries your Plus subscription and syncing between devices. Files you import in the browser stay on your device and in your own Drive and never pass through our servers. You are responsible for your device, your account and your WhatsApp encryption key. Use the product only on your own chats and in line with the law and WhatsApp's terms.

3 · Free tier

Free forever and includes: one complete chat with all its messages and media (pulled directly in the app, imported on the web), a preview of your other chats, imports from WhatsApp export, messages on Drive, and up to 300 MB of media on Drive. Current limits are shown in the product and may improve over time.

4 · WaChat Plus (subscription)

• Plans: monthly or yearly. Through Google Play (and by card on the web once available) they renew automatically until you cancel; Google Play may offer a free trial or an introductory price for the first period, after which the full price shown before purchase applies. With crypto on the web you prepay a fixed term at the full price, and it does not renew.
• Country-based prices: the price is set by your country as shown in Google Play, or on the web by the country of your connection as determined by our server at purchase time. Another country cannot be selected. Using a VPN or a payment method from a different country to obtain another country's price violates these terms; we may decline or refund the transaction and end the subscription.
• Payment and cancellation: in the app through Google Play; on the web with crypto through NOWPayments, or by card through the payment provider named at checkout once available. Cancel a renewing subscription any time where you purchased; Plus stays on until the end of the paid period. A crypto-prepaid term simply ends on its date.
• Refunds: see the Refund Policy.
• Account: the subscription is tied to the WaChat account that purchased it and works on all your devices and on the web with that account, wherever it was bought.
• When it ends: nothing is deleted. Only the extras stop.

5 · Your data

Your data is yours. See the Privacy Policy. Keep a copy of your WhatsApp key and your files; without the key the encrypted WhatsApp backup cannot be read. On the web your data lives in your browser, and clearing browser data deletes it.

6 · Acceptable use

Do not use the product to access other people's chats without permission, to break any law, or to circumvent subscription limits or regional pricing.

7 · Disclaimer

The product is provided "as is". We work hard on accuracy, but reading WhatsApp backups depends on a format WhatsApp may change. We are not liable for data loss caused by your device, your browser or third-party accounts.

8 · Changes

We may update these terms or prices; material changes are announced in the product and do not apply to a paid period already running.

9 · Provider and governing law

• Provider: Mohamed Mahmoud Sayed, an independent developer operating WaChat from the Arab Republic of Egypt. Contact: support@wachatplus.com.
• Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, including Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018.
• Disputes: we first try to resolve any disagreement informally; write to us and we reply within two business days. If that fails, the courts of Cairo have jurisdiction.
• Your consumer rights: nothing in this section removes the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence, or your right to bring a claim before the courts of your own country where the law guarantees it.
