No. WaChat is an independent product built by a small team and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to WhatsApp or Meta in any way. WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC.
WaChat does not connect to WhatsApp's servers and never asks for your WhatsApp login. It only reads two things WhatsApp already gives you:
- The export file that "Export chat" produces.
- The encrypted local backup (
msgstore.db.crypt15) on your phone, which you unlock with your own 64-digit key.
Both are your files, on your device. Using them with WaChat does not change anything in WhatsApp.
