Using WaChat Web without the Android app
WaChat Web works on its own: import a file in the browser and everything stays on your device.

You do not need the Android app to use WaChat Web. Open web.wachatplus.com on any computer, tablet or phone and choose one of two sources:
- WhatsApp export — a
.zipor.txtfrom "Export chat". One chat, with media if you exported it. - Encrypted backup + key — the
msgstore.db.crypt15file from your phone plus your 64-digit key. Every chat, no limits.
Everything happens in the browser, in a background worker: decryption, reading the database, search, insights and export. Your file is never uploaded and no account is required.
Chats are stored in the browser's private storage for this site. You can install WaChat Web as an app from the address bar, and it keeps working offline.
If you later sign in with Google, you can save a copy to the hidden app folder of your Drive. It uses the same format as the Android app, so the chat appears on your phone too.
The app adds one thing the web cannot do on its own: automatic nightly sync after WhatsApp's backup, with Plus.
